As part of the Global Schools TY Programme, Transition Year students from De La Salle College and Abbey Community College visited our 5th and 6th class pupils for an engaging workshop.
The session focused on fast fashion and global responsibility, beginning with a lively question-and-answer discussion that encouraged pupils to think critically about their own choices as consumers. Pupils then worked collaboratively on a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) card-sorting activity, debating and ordering the goals based on what they felt was most important.
Students were also presented with a range of statements outlining the advantages and disadvantages of fast fashion. Pupils had to decide whether they agreed or disagreed with each statement and justify their opinions.
Before finishing up, the TY students shared their own experiences of transitioning to secondary school, offering insights to our 6th class pupils as they prepare for this important next step.
We would like to sincerely thank the TY students. Their visit was both informative and provided a valuable learning experience for all involved.
