Sixth Class Lead the Way in Global Citizenship Learning

24th Feb, 2026

Our sixth-class pupils recently took centre stage at Collect, where they presented a series of impressive projects exploring Global Citizenship, with a particular focus on travel.

The children investigated a wide range of important and timely themes. Projects included global citizenship in relation to litter and waste, Quaker values, travel and global warming, fast fashion and smog. Their presentations were informative, engaging, and thought-provoking, sparking interest among pupils of all classes.

One group wrote a letter to Waterford City Council. In their letter, they respectfully asked council members to reconsider the proposed self-driving shuttle bus across the new bridge, carefully outlining their environmental concerns and suggestions.

The overall message of the assembly was clear: every individual has the power to create positive change, especially through the choices we make about travel and caring for our environment.

Well done to all our sixth-class students for educating and inspiring the whole school through their thoughtful work and confident presentations.
