On Tuesday the 22nd of October we were delighted to welcome Ben Johnson, a past pupil, to Collect. Ben plays on the Irish hockey team and represented Ireland in last summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. Ben spoke to the children about the importance of exposing themselves to various sports and how the skills learned can transfer to many aspects of their lives. He encouraged the children to pursue their passion, whether sports, drama or the arts. He highlighted the importance of working hard to achieve your goals and the importance of a growth mindset when things do not go your way. We thank Ben for taking the time to talk to the children in Newtown Junior School and we wish him every success in his future endeavours, both on and off the field.
